The erratic power supply is become a way of life. People have to depend more on the inverters. But this is ok only for those who can afford. Even the inverters are damaged by erratic power supply. The local linesmen are doing their best by trimming the trees round the year. But when the coastal area is full of coconut trees, their efforts turn futile. For this reason, it was planned to have underground cabling in this area.
About two years back, underground cabling was done in Arossim Village, the coastal side. So much so it was trial tested few months back. But the situation continues to be the same. Has the underground cabling failed? People deserve to know, because bills are paid by the public time to time. This is an issue which the local MLA needs to take up with the minister concerned.
