PERNEM: The Pernem Taluka Vikas Samiti has demanded with the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to correct the errors made in spellings of the places’ names on the signboards erected along Dhargal-Patradevi National Highway 66, which are written in English and Marathi.

Names of villages Tambose, Galel, Naibag, Ugvem and Kadshi are misspelt on the multiple signboards and locals have raised objections to this.

“The NHAI or government should consult the locals for the correct pronunciation of the village names in local languages if they are not sure about it. They can also take guidance from the local panchayats for the same,” Samiti’s member Umesh Gad said.
