In Ponda and its surrounding areas (including villages as well), the roads have been dug for undertaking sewerage work. With some of the roads like that of Khadpabandh and Varkhandem being narrow, the commuters proceeding through such locations face great inconvenience and trouble. Especially, during the peak hours, the situation worsens to a great extent.
An appropriate example in this regard is the location adjacent to Shree Kapileshwar Temple, at Kapileshwari (in Ponda). Some years back, the former PWD minister Sudin Dhavalikar along with some of the PWD officials had visited London on a study tour. This team failed to study and adopt advanced technology from London for applying the same in Goa while undertaking excavation work on the roads as and when needed. In case, this had materialised, public at large would not have suffered much hardship the way they are suffering at present.
Nevertheless, it is the need of the hour for the concerned authorities to expedite the ongoing sewerage work on priority basis and complete it in all respects at the earliest. Of course, hardship to the commuters and pedestrians should end once and for all.
