In recent times the deteriorated condition of roads in Ponda has caused hardships to public at large. Many riders, including women, sustained serious injuries with some even losing their lives due to the potholed roads. During his tenure, former PWD Minister Sudin Dhavalikar failed to take up timely repairs of these roads. The present PWD Minister Deepak Pauskar too has failed in this regards. The recent government move of filling up the potholes with tar, riders wish that their hardships would end on a permanent basis. However, this work has been going on at a snail’s pace. It is time that the concerned authorities expedite and complete the work satisfactorily at the earliest. Assuring safety to vehicle riders is a real challenge and the PWD should ensure safety of all.
