I am a senior citizen whose ancestral house is in Fatorda. Although I spend most months of the year in Mumbai with my son’s family, we come down to Goa for festivals. I visit the Fatorda post office to send greeting cards for Christmas, etc.
The Fatorda post office is located in unkempt and dark premises near the Rosary Church. It makes me wonder how the staff there work. There are no chairs for aged customers to sit, nor is there a ramp.
I filed online grievance number DPOST/E/2016/ 03642 on April 5, 2016 with the Postal department and the department in reply stated that work of shifting the post office to better premises is in progress. A year has almost passed since and nothing has changed.
I filed another grievance no. DPOST/E/2017/04744 dated March 5, 2017 and again I received the same reply. I think the shifting of the Post office statement is just a bluff.
The concerned postal authorities need to look into this to avoid putting senior citizens like me to inconvenience.
