Opposite Jagabai Temple, Borvon Vaddo-Nachinola, exists a recently built large well in the residential complexes. What matters me is that, when driving on this road to Mapusa, on many occasions I have noticed that the children stand on the well platform and throw stones on the frogs in the well and enjoy their thrill.
In the act, if accidentally they slip into the well, will they not end up their thrill in the waters! Haven’t the authorities learnt a lesson from the recent Tuem tragedy? When any tragedy happens the authorities pass buck on each other, the buck stops here…
The picture shows the well has been neglected without safety fencing, since its inception, the matter not ended here, there are many picnic spots and waterfalls, stone quarries, lakes, mining pits and wells etc are without fencing and hence due to the negligence of the concerned authorities, many children have lost their lives in the watery grave tragedy. So, I appeal to the concerned authorities to take up the fencing of the well on urgent basis to avoid untoward incident.
