Many residents in St Inez woke up in the morning of August 30 to see water entering their homes. Living in St Inez near the infamous St Inez Creek we always knew this day would come, though we prayed it would never do. However, that morning, we woke up to see the area surrounding our buildings along with a few houses being flooded with nullah water. But we were still lucky than those whose homes had been filled with water caused by the flooding. At every election, politicians promise to take up the issue of the St Inez Creek and beautify it and build retaining walls. Yet, year after year we are left disappointed. What are our politicians doing? When are they going to wake up and see the reality? When will they realize the problems that people face? Are we going to get any reprieve?
