A stretch of road leading to Mahatma Gandhi park in Goltim-Navelim in a length of 235 metres was finally lit up as part of Republic Day celebrations. Cumbharjua MLA was instrumental in getting the work done which had been simply shelved for over a decade now and for no reason.
Several panchayat bodies have exchanged hands but nobody gave a thought to do justice as the locality is devoid of any vote bank. This sort of selective development should be avoided by elected representatives at all costs as not only the residents in the vicinity were kept in darkness from the time the Divar was electrified for no fault of theirs but along with them the other villagers who frequent this stretch of the road were put to inconvenience.
The Resolution to take up the work of extension of street light was adopted by the Panchayat in the year 2014 and forwarded to the Electricity department for its implementation which is finally brought to fruition with the unrelenting efforts put in by me for the last 10 years.
