I am seeing a lack of proper garbage cleaning at Cumbharjua and nearby areas. Locals are carelessly throwing garbage in water bodies (Cumbharjua canal near ferry), roadside, on the streets. This will create unhygienic conditions for aquatic life.
A huge pile of garbage can is seen dumped along the roadside at Corlim Industrial Estate area.
In the absence of proper waste management in our area, people are openly seen throwing garbage in water body and along the roadside. The panchayat is collecting garbage from very few houses that too once in a week, even after collecting house tax plus garbage tax (Rs 900 per year) from every house. I hope on reading this letter, the authorities concerned will take prompt action.
