It is true with the election now over and the Model Code of Conduct being lifted, the interest of the concerned authority must be focused on monsoon related works to be completed on time to avoid any untoward incidents. Rightly so, the village rain drains need to be taken care of, particularly where drains require slab covers to make it easy for the affected citizens to cross over.
It is given to understand that funds are already released to the local panchayats to do the needful in carrying out the works. Interestingly, some panchayats complain of no funds and the water drains work remain in abeyance, more so to cover the outlet rain water drains. We in Salvador do Mundo do appreciate the ruling committee doing some appreciable works and are hopeful of every ward member take up the responsibility to fulfil the aspirations of the villagers that we enjoy a pleasant monsoon.
