Since the initial lockdown in March, sending ordinary registered letters from India to most countries has been suspended. Even now that so called ‘air bubbles’ are in place, the Post Office does not accept registered letters. Recently, the main Post Office in Panjim required me to pay approximately Rs 1,700 to send an ordinary 50 gram letter to the UK. They said that no other option was available. This is disappointing, and feels opportunistic.
