The State government spends in crores from the State exchequer every year in order to carry out the beach-cleaning operations. However, the visitors to the beach keep on littering the beach front.
The picnickers, who carry food to the beach, leave behind used plates, empty bottles, plastic glasses, etc. This photo was clicked at the Sunset Beach in Betalbatim. People litter the place despite there being several dustbins for the waste to be deposited.
The authorities need to act tough against those leaving the waste behind on the beach sand.
They need to be penalised for doing so. The locals also need to keep a close watch on the visitors and bring to the notice of the authorities if there is littering of the beach.
