The government has failed to provide basic necessities to the common man. I am a resident from Agassaim. Everyday there are frequent power cuts throughout the day in my village. At times, there is no power supply for 5-6 hours. So many complaints are been lodged at the village panchayat to be forwarded to the Electricity Department regarding the power cuts but no action is taken against the same.
Entire Goa is witnessing frequent power cuts and interrupted power supply. The Power Minister has to see that all power lines which are old have to be replaced. The trees’ branches which are creating obstructions have to be trimmed before the monsoons. But this is never done and the public have to bear the consequences.
All people do not have invertors in their homes. These days due to heavy rainfall and strong winds so many trees are uprooted. But the uprooted trees are not cleared in time. There is so much of flooding on the streets. The State’s capital Panjim gets totally flooded at many places.
In Canacona, people residing at Sadolxem did not have power supply for two days. The drainage is not cleaned before the monsoons and most of the places in Goa there is no drainage at all for the rain water to flow and if there is, the drainage it is not functional.
The government should do proper planning and have rain water harvesting projects and so much rain water could be saved in every town and village.
But this is not done. Is the government really concerned of the common man? We are honest tax payers but do not get the basic necessities. When will the government put all this things in place? The government has failed to give the basic necessities such as good roads and uninterrupted power supply besides jobs to the youth of Goa.
