Every inch of Goa’s land is getting concretised by unscrupulous authorities and land owners who are out to destroy these sensitive zones which were earmarked in the Regional Plan 2021 as no development zones. eg forest, fields, Hills/slopes near water bodies. All these plans are put into the dustbins for such ruthless developers who are out to finish Goa.
The fields in Guirim there is so much development and now the new Sewerage plant is coming up by the government agency. These fields get
water logged during every monsoon, where will the rain/flood water go now, planning for another disaster soon. Rain water in the fields helps to recharge the water table of the area. If we allow concrete structures in the fields, the future generation will continue to depend on food grains from neighbouring states.
Since our government has one agenda that is tourism. The TCP has given licenses to developers to construct on the slopes of the hills in Porvorim and Siolim.
Let’s hope better senses will prevail with our Ministers incharge of their portfolios, is this the Goa we are going to give to our next generation or we are all out to sell Goa for other people from other state who have crores of money to buy anything that is sold in Amchem Bhangarache Goem.
