A garbage free Goa should be initiated and adhered to at every Village Panchayat level. Wet and dry bins can be supplied to every household at a minimal cost. Every Panchayat should ensure daily door to door collection of garbage and disposal of the same.
Besides the Government providing grants to the Panchayats; a nominal annual garbage tax can be collected from each and every household likewise the annual house tax; to aid the Panchayat in funding manpower and execution.
Education in schools and homes should strictly emphasise on inculcating ‘skins in the bin’ habit to children at an early age. Every marketplace should have large garbage bins. A clean and beautiful Goa will progress if every individual participates and contributes to its beautification by actually throwing garbage in the bins!
