HO-HO bus driver defies law at Miramar

The Hop on Hop off buses are regularly parked at the Miramar circle blocking traffic and blind-sighting drivers and creating situations for accidents.
On June 10, 2018, at around 10.30 am, one Hop On Hop Off bus was parked right in the middle of the road next to the temporary traffic island. This citizen got off his car and approached the driver of the bus to remove the dangerously parked vehicle from the Miramar circle since it could cause accidents. He was also told that it is in violation of MV rules which forbid vehicles from parking at intersection and that the traffic taking the Miramar circle, is totally blinded by the bus, and cannot see vehicles coming from Panjim and proceeding to Dona Paula.
The arrogant driver with utter contempt for Rule of Law refused to remove the bus, saying there is no parking space and told this citizen to do what he wanted and that he doesn’t care. “Let the bus operators pay the fine,” he said. This let the cat out of the bag. Though the buses were originally projected as Tourism Dept buses, just like the All Women Taxis, on checking the registration it was found that these buses are owned by a private company.
