According to figures released there has been an increase of 34% of tourists to Goa from January to December 2014. Despite the number of foreigners visiting Goa has come down, there has been an increase of domestic tourists. Those who fly down to Goa, many are impressed with the modern-day airport. Although it lacks lot of finesse, the Dabolim International Airport is reportedly one of the best in Asia.
However, when you come out of the airport a sore sight greets you outside. The scene around the airport during the peak hours is very pathetic due to the illegal parking of the tourist vehicles in a row along the sideway of the Airport road highway.
Well, who is to be blamed for this? Why aren’t the traffic cops taking any action against them?
If there is no adequate space for the parking of increasing number of tourist vehicles then the Airport authorities, in association with government, should come out with some amicable solution so that the Airport road is safer and appears pleasing to the eyes of the tourists
This will not only improve the beauty of the surroundings but also avoid untoward accidents as the tourist taxi drivers tend to block the highway with their vehicles.
