I must acknowledge the fact that the ring road starting from Margao KTC circle connecting Comba is no less than a remarkable blessing unequivocally for everyone using it on a daily basis, and a comfort factor, especially for people coming from areas such as Colva, Majorda, Fatorda, etc to name a few.
Undoubtedly, by its virtue, a lot of precious time of commuters is saved. Not very long ago, in the past, we would use the interior zig-zag road of Comba to reach the KTC circle and vice versa. If we happen to come to Margao town we would first circumambulate the Herculean task of Margao Municipal Council garden; not to mention the time, fuel and energy wastage in the due process.
During daytime, Comba ring road offers a very beautiful look with the scenic beauty of greenery all over. However, apparently at night, the same place gives a dreaded look because of absence of the streetlights. As a regular commuter, on one occasion I was about to hit a buffalo suddenly crossing the road.
Consequently, this incident has made me ask our able government when our Electricity Department will initiate installing electricity poles on the ring road to prevent such near miss or accidents from happening.
Please note that in the future, people with a criminal mindset may use it as a safe haven to carry out their notorious activity by taking advantage of the darkness. So please act now before it’s too late.
