Recently I read that the PWD will be issuing guidelines to PWD contractors for the design of speed breakers to be installed on Goan roads.
The India Road Congress has a scientific design for the type of speed breaker that has to be installed but our PWD Engineers do not bother to issue the design to the so called registered PWD contractors when the contract order is awarded to them.

Everything is taken for granted and one wonders how on earth are the completion reports approved by all the authorities for the release of the payment. Is this not corruption or failure of the so-called good governance?
Recently while driving to the internal roads in the defence colony behind Dr Prabhu’s clinic, someone installed moulded plastic speed breakers which are totally dangerous for pregnant women and the public. I request the PWD engineer inspect and install a standard designed speed breaker of hot mix for the safety of all.
