The railway overbridge (ROB) at Khareband is in a state of utter disrepair. The situation gets worse in the monsoon with the staircase becoming very slippery, almost a mini waterfall. Vegetation striking roots in the structure and growing all over is leading to gradual weakening of the structure.
At places, the concrete is also flaking off. Could the Margao Municipal Council please take note and atleast clear the plants/shrubs from the steps and side walls as the ROB is used by hundreds of people daily, right now it resembles a botanist’s dream. Further, the treads should be overlaid with non skid edge strips for added safety of the pedestrians. One fall and the user will head straight for heaven.
