In its enthusiasm the traffic cops are clamping cars which have been parked on the pavement earmarked for two-wheeler parking. However the two-wheelers that are parked on the pavement earmarked for four-wheeler parking are not penalized. Hence the area meant for car parking is occupied by scooters and bikes. Where should the car owner park their cars if the space allotted for car parking is occupied by two-wheelers? In order to see that the vehicles are parked in the proper places the traffic cell should carry out a joint action to penalize both car-owners and two-wheeler owners who park their vehicles wrongly. Incidentally a sign board which reads “Parking for Two-Wheelers” is seen inside the Mormugao Municipal Council (MMC) Park. The sign-board has been standing here for the past couple of months. Gives one the impression that parking is allowed in the park!
Is two-wheeler parking allowed in the Mormugao Municipal Council park?
It is observed that new sign-boards have been put up along the Swatantra Path allowing for four-wheeler parking on one side and two-wheeler parking on the other side of the main road.
