Private vehicles are being issued challans for violating traffic rules and regulations. Whenever such vehicles are parked on the road, traffic cops are quick enough in putting up locks for the same.
However, what about vehicles of the government departments functioning in the state? Are they not liable to be taken to task whenever they are halted or parked on the road? Seen in the picture is a vehicle of the electricity department that was parked over the narrow road near the Police Station in Ponda on Friday, December 7 at 2.40 pm.
Perhaps the driver of this vehicle might have gone for lunch by parking the vehicle at this strategic location. Such an undesirable situation ultimately resulted in great inconvenience not only to fellow travellers but for pedestrians as well. Let us hope that the concerned competent authorities would take a note of this important matter and initiate strict action against vehicles of the government departments as well which are found flouting the traffic rules and regulations from time to time.
