Colvenkars should remember that they have an obligation to hand over a good village to the next generation.
We should keep a watchful eye on any unnecessary developments which can reduce the green cover, and destroy water bodies. We can preserve low lying areas, fields, lakes, etc and still keep the village free from pollution, traffic congestion, flooding, lower water tables, etc and yes there is constant threat from greedy real estate developers in alliance with some politicians.
All that is needed is for more Colvenkars to take a more active interest in their village and even attend the gram sabhas. Appreciate, there are sometimes genuine reasons for not attending which can be understandable but these can be as exceptions. The more people attend and take interest in the affairs of the village, the more the village can move in the right direction else it will only go in a direction which I am sure that majority of us would not want for us or the future generations.
