Keep Vaddi Beach clean, vehicles-free

Walking or cycling on the Vaddi Beach at Benaulim used to be a pleasure but not anymore. Right at the entrance, one runs into randomly parked cars and motorcycles. After successfully navigating between the parked vehicles one is greeted by litter at all corners owing to lack of garbage bins.

To add to the woes there are two haphazardly positioned food trucks in the parking area with their illegal seating (as per their contract with the village panchayat no sitting — tables and chairs — arrangements are permitted). It is high time that paid parking is introduced to disincentivise vehicular traffic on the beaches.

Garbage bins should be placed at strategic locations. Food trucks should be penalised for laying out chairs and tables. Beach going should be a pleasant experience, not an obstacle course.
