SANGUEM: The villagers of Maina Kavrem in Pirla Village, aggrieved with the frequent snapping of power supply in the village, submitted a memorandum to the Electricity Department officials requesting for immediate rectification in the power supply problems. The memorandum was given under the leadership of Shivyodhya President Kristanand Pednekar along with the locals to the Executive Engineer Madappa and Assistant Engineer Sarfaraz Sheikh.
Agitated villagers informed that since the past over two to three months the villagers of Maina Kavrem are facing extreme power supply problems in the village. There has been constant power snapping after every fifteen minutes as a result of which villagers are made to face difficult times particularly during night.
Villagers informed that in the event of snapping of power supply during night time, the department would somehow restore power supply but only the next morning.
Moreover at times, the villagers have to switch over to kerosene lamps to do the household works, complained a villager.
Replying to the memorandum presented by the villagers, Executive Engineer Madappa informed that the power supply in the village has cropped up due to the transformer fault and that the same will be rectified soon.
Meanwhile the villagers have threatened to lead a morcha to the power supply department if the problem of frequent power snapping in the village continues for a long time.
