On several occasions there are instances of transformers catching fire at different locations. As a matter of fact we often notice scattered waste papers, plastic bags and other sorts of dry garbage close to the transformers. Such cases prove dangerous and there is every possibility of the concerned transformer catching fire in case the garbage is set ablaze at such spots. Seen in the picture are wastepaper and plastic bags close to the transformer near the parking area in the vicinity of Shree Manguesh temple at Mangueshi in Ponda. It is the need of the hour for the concerned authorities to see to it that dry garbage existing near transformers is cleared on regular basis to prevent any untoward incident. People must be assured safety at all costs.
