A pile of old newspapers gathered in my office. My attendant suggested that I sell these old newspapers to a grocery shop owner as old papers are bought @Rs 6 per kilo.
Heeding to his suggestion I thought of disposing off the papers but there of was a problem of weighing them. For this my office attendant brought two plastic dining unused plates made three holes each to the plates and tied them with cloth strings making it a complete weighing scale and used a stone exactly weighing one kilo. When he started weighing the old newspapers he counted 21 kgs @Rs. 6 totaling to Rs 120 and waited for the buyer to come.
Coincidentally before the buyer could come one of my relatives called me up and took us to Panjim where I was given Rs 10 instead of Rs 6 per kilo.
My advice to friends is to make paper bags out of the old newspapers and sell them as a new paper bags for grocery shop owners. This will fetch them some pocket money for their daily expenditure.
