There has been massive destruction of private forest land (one of the few eco hot spots) at Gaundalim village (Cumbharjua Panchayat) by a local politician.
This area is full of teak and other trees (as seen in the first photo). The second photo has been clicked after several trees were destroyed. Work is in full swing through use of bulldozers.
As per the old Regional Plan, this area is a no settlement zone. It appears that the TCP, Forest Department, Panchayat are all taken care off.
Hope the departments concerned look into this at the earliest to save the plight of this private forest land and to preserve the ancient trees.
