Take a look around your vicinity and you will realize that the pathways which lead you home seemed to have availed a varied form of fertility. None of us are oblivious to the fact that we travel on roads which aren’t meant for two or four wheelers, most likely they are paths relieving it’s pre- Independent India days.
Irrespective of where you go, you end up into a pothole. Should the civilians concentrate on getting to their destination safely or are they going to play a game of dodging the innumerable potholes to avoid unnecessary damage? These roads were supposed to be well furnished to cater to the much awaited monsoon season.
The preparations began approximately by the end of May; astonishingly early avoid aren’t we. You could see the patch work being done on the roads to prevent further damage. Hardly a week later, the same spots were being targeted yet again.
Taxes are paid, money has flown in but improvement in the basic needs of the citizens seems to be the last priority on the list.
Excuses come in galore, there were harsh monsoons which washed away the hard work done or in comes a tad bit old fashioned blame game. The responsibility is never taken up. The rate of accidents has rapidly escalated in every nook and cranny of the state. Every individual is dodging their way moving haphazardly on the road causing collision. Will the scenario ever change? Is there ever anyone who can answer our queries honestly and act upon them? This is just one monsoon taken into account, many went by and many will come.
