Power cuts can be experienced at any time of the day, even the wee hours of the morning or late at night, thus causing inconvenience to the public at large. If the substation at Nachinola is contacted when there is a power cut, the authorities say that the feeder has a technical fault and that they cannot rectify it. It is very ironic to me that even after the public raised this issue with the concerned electricity department division XVII Sub Division II Mapusa, the authorities there said that the power supply distribution to Moira and Nachinola would improve but all in vain. The concerned sub-division calls for maintenance work for the feeder and many a times it is seen that the maintenance work/ shutdown is not carried out on the said day which shows clear lethargy on the part of the officials at the Electricity Department even though there are power shutdown notices issued in the local newspapers by the concerned Electricity Department. Therefore, I would request the feeder to be replaced with a new one so that the power supply will improve and there will not be any inconvenience on the public and regular maintenance work is carried out on the feeder so that frequent power outages will not be experienced regularly.
New electricity feeder urgently needed for Moira, Nachinola
It is seen and observed for the past 18 years that I, being a resident of Moira after settling from Mapusa that there is no improvement in the power supply all year round.
