Plants grown along road median adds to the beauty of the city. Besides this the plants also cut the glare of the vehicles moving in the opposite direction in the other lane.
But these shrubs need to be of low height or should be trimmed regularly. This can lead to accidents. In the port town it is observed that plants that grow to a substantial height have been planted on the road median along the FL Gomes road near the vegetable/fruit market which is crowded with shoppers.
These tall plants can block the view of pedestrians who cross the road.
