In Ponda the parking area for two-wheelers and cars has been marked at different spots. However, on many occasions, vehicle riders wishing to park their automobiles here are unable to do so due to the presence of stray cattle. Due to this, the very purpose of marking reserved areas for parking stands defeated.
Seen in the picture are stray cattle occupying the parking area adjacent to Hotel Menino in the vicinity of old bus stand. Such a tendency has become a regular feature, especially in the morning. Although stray cattle menace has become a serious problem in major parts of the state of Goa, the concerned competent authorities have not yet succeeded in assuring necessary relief to innocent travelers and pedestrians proceeding along the concerned routes.
I sincerely request the higher officials at the Ponda Municipal Council to initiate a severe drive in a strategic matter and see to it that this growing menace is brought under firm control. Bovines found occupying the footpaths and parking areas must be impounded on priority basis in the interest of public at large.
Let us hope that swift favourable action would follow in this regard at once without any further delay.
