It seems that we have not learnt a lesson yet from the death of a youth who fell into a ditch at Mala which was dug as part of the Panaji Smart City works.
In the port town, the pavements along the Swatantra Path have been dug up at several places as part of the ongoing underground cabling work.
However there are no barricades or any warning sign boards put up along the pavements. This puts the pedestrians at grave risk. It is high time the authorities concerned take into consideration the safety aspect of the citizens while digging the roads and pavements.
