Police patrolling must due to rise in burglary cases in Ponda

In Ponda, cases of burglary have been constantly on the rise. Recently, five flats in a building at Borim were targeted. Similarly, another burglary was reported at Kurtarkar Arcade Complex, followed by a recent case at the residential quarters of staff of Goa Dairy at Curti.

In this case, the miscreants fled with gold ornaments of around Rs 5 lakh. The situation is rather serious and people need to remain cautious and take necessary precautions in order to assure safety of their belongings.

At housing societies and bigger complexes, CCTVs must be installed compulsorily so as to expedite the investigation to be carried out by the Police Department in case any robbery takes place, sooner or later.

The same need to remain functional throughout and hence regular maintenance work in this regard is a must. Further, whenever any family proceeds out of station, a bulb should remain functional at the entrance area and also at the balcony.

In case, there is total darkness at the closed premises during the night, chances of robberies will be much more. It is equally important that worn out grills of windows and balconies are replaced at the appropriate time. So also, cash amount and gold ornaments should be kept at a safe place with proper locking arrangement.

Taking into consideration the losses to the respective families due to the recent burglaries, it is time for the Ponda Police to intensify patrolling during the night by deputing additional police personnel. Persons found moving suspiciously during late nights should be interrogated thoroughly. Of course, the declining law and order should improve at all costs.
