Every evening, the Karaswaddo junction at Mapusa along the National Highway turns chaotic in the absence of traffic policemen. Vehicles zoom in from all four sides and often results in traffic snarls with people getting caught for hours together. The traffic cops however are conspicuous by their absence during this time. While the men in uniform are busy challaning violators all along the highway, one fails to understand as to why the Mapusa Traffic Cell doesn’t deploy its personnel to control the chaotic situation during peak hours.
It is time the department deploys police here especially in the evening and bring the situation under control and let people travel in peace.
