Potential danger to Lyceum building

The sheer steep excavation of the hillside for the purpose of construction of a retaining wall on the Corte de Oiteiro side of the Lyceum building has led to fears among the residents of that area that the loose earth on the surface of the hillock will dislodge and be washed away in the eventuality of heavy rains thus endangering the lives of the residents of the area.
Even the winding steps leading to the Lyceum and the High Court of Bombay in Goa could be affected due to the barrage of heavy rains in the city. Last year during the rains water from the uncut hill was cascading on the Corte de Oiteiro road footpath.
