When it comes to the safety of electricity department linesmen, the issue is often ignored and the department engineers tend to neglect this issue either due to less supply or poor knowledge on safety. Many a times we see linesman climb the electricity pole without any safety gear. In the absence of a ladder-equipped vehicle linesmen are forced to undertake work of overhead power lines thereby ignoring their safety. In a modern world, we cannot use primitive methods by putting the lives of the linesmen at risk. I suggest the Electricity Department purchase the mechanical coconut climbing device to ensure the safety of linesmen while undertaking their work. Will the Chief Engineer look into this suggestion?
