Recently, the stretch of road leading from Almeida High School towards Ravi Nagar at Khadpabandh in Ponda has been hot-mixed. Speed breakers have been installed for the benefit of commuters. However, as on Saturday, traffic signboards (thereby indicating presence of speed breakers) were found missing.
The situation is rather dangerous for travellers, in particular, pillion riders proceeding along the strategic location. The situation is bound to worsen during the night and a two-wheeler rider proceeding in full speed is likely to get involved in a mishap before the speed breaker by losing control over the vehicle.
Innocent travellers need to be assured safety on a permanent basis. It is thereby absolutely necessary for the concerned competent authorities to install the much needed signboards on immediate basis so that travellers receive the necessary instruction at a glance. White stripes should also be painted on priority basis. This would assure safety on a permanent basis. Let us hope that prompt favourable action would be initiated in this serious matter in public interest.
