The study has proven that consuming particular fruit and vegetable during particular season is nutritionally beneficial.
But the plight of the seasonal vendors in Goa not having a place to sell their produce was quite disheartening. Due to which they tend to sit on roads wherever possible. Most especially you will notice them on Nuvem-Verna road or in the city junctions.
Comparatively, the variety produced by seasonal farmers is unique, fresh, formalin free, and pesticide free. So these vendors should be given the priority, providing them a makeshift space in the commercial cities.
It is time also for the consumers to purchase these fresh fruits and vegetables for our benefit as well as to encourage the seasonal farmers and vendors from Assolna, Morpilla, Barcem, Paddi, Chandor, Verna, Nuvem, Goa Velha, Moira, etc.
