Public toilets in unhygienic condition

A few days ago, a social activist posted in the social media how the public pay toilet opposite Union Pharmacy, Mapusa lies in a very unhygienic condition and charging exorbitantly.

The public toilets in other parts of Goa are no different, with no maintenance, and very little hygiene.  In some villages one can hardly find a pay toilet. Our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has started the “Swachh Bharat Abhiyan” (Clean India Mission) to eliminate open defecation and to improve waste management.

However, even in urban areas of Goa it is difficult to find a clean pay toilet. The garbage disposal and waste management are also very bad, with unpleasant sight of garbage heaps everywhere. It’s very sad that our leaders can’t provide even basic necessities for the public.
