The prescribed on-off timings pertaining to streetlights are being overlooked by the concerned officials and hence fixtures remain in working condition even during broad daylight.

Although maintenance vehicles of the electricity department proceed along such routes, they too tend to neglect this.

As on May 12 at 8 am, fixtures near Ponda Commerce Centre complex at Tisk in Ponda were on. Similarly, on May 18 at 9 am, fixtures adjacent to Almeida High School and as also near Ganganath Shopee were found on. On this day lights adjacent to Maruti temple at Varkhandem were also found on at 12:30 pm.

Such a pitiful state of affairs amply depict negligence on the part of concerned officials deputed on duty.

I request the Power Minister to order investigation in this important matter and take to task the concerned officials who were found negligent in discharge of their official duties on above days.

Power supply being very much precious and must be utilised in the best possible manner without wastage of any sort, specially by employees.
