QUEPEM: The Quepem locals are worried over the negligence shown by the concerned authority towards repair and maintenance work of the main market area of Bali road near municipal square, Quepem.
“On completion of work, the concerned authority failed to clear the road of debris, which shows lack of proper planning and commitment by the responsible department towards its duty. The department is least bothered of the safety and security of locals in the Quepem market area,” the locals said.
A local Savio Alfonso said, “It is total irresponsibility on the part of concerned authority for failing to clear the road on completion of the work. This leads to traffic congestion. School children and commuters are put to inconvenience while passing through this passage of road on the junction.”
Hiraj Malvankar said that for the last two months this work is in progress here. The concerned department failed to show responsibility in completion of the work. That’s the reason people are put to inconvenience in the Quepem market area. Besides, even the safety signboards are not put in the place where work is yet to be completed on Quepem-Bali road.
