A LED fixture on an electricity pole along Kapileshwari-Two Pillars route in Ponda has been noticed in a hanging position for more than 15 days. It is also found to be non-functional. With the said fixture lying in a neglected condition, darkness has been noticed on the road.
The commuters and pedestrians are subjected to great inconvenience and trouble due to lack of illumination during the night. Linesmen of the Electricity Department deputed at this location have overlooked this important matter in the interest of public at large.
As on July 27, situation in this regard was found to be stagnant. It is absolutely necessary that illumination is assured on the road during the night time. The higher officials at the Electricity Department should take a note of this important matter and issue necessary instructions to the concerned linesmen to re-install the hanging LED fixture in its original position so that it serves its basic purpose.
Let us hope that prompt positive action would follow in public interest. Rectifying the said defect would go a long way in assuring relief to innocent pedestrians and commuters alike.
