On most occasions some of the streetlight fixtures along the Adpai jetty are noticed in a misplaced condition. Hence they fail to serve the basic purpose of assuring illumination along the road for the benefit of innocent motorists and pedestrians proceeding along this strategic jetty. Many people proceed to Rassaim, Cortalim, Vasco and its neighbouring areas for work. However while returning back during late evening and night, they face great inconvenience due to lack of proper illumination on the road. One fixture was noticed facing towards the extreme side, the enclosed picture amply justifies this fact. Further, one fixture was found covered with branches of an adjoining tree thereby preventing illumination over the road. Errors like that of above remain unattended for long and ultimately it is the public at large who remain to be the sufferers in the process. Even elected representatives of the local village panchayat overlook such important matters in the interest of public at large. It is absolutely necessary for the linesmen of the Electricity Department to re-install the misplaced fixture in its correct original position so that motorists and pedestrians receive the much needed relief on a permanent basis. Let us hope that prompt positive action would follow in this regard in public interest.
