In fact, the Electricity Department deputes linesmen in each and every location for undertaking maintenance work. But one wonders as to why the above lamp has remained unattended for so long. Faulty position of this lamp itself exhibits negligence on the part of the maintenance staff deputed at this location.
I hope the higher officials at the Electricity Department in Ponda will take a note of above defect and get the lamp re-fixed in its proper position. By the way, a meter-box existing over an electrical pole near Canara Bank at Kaziwada (also in Ponda) does not possess the front cover for quite long. The same needs to be provided at the earliest. So also, some of the streetlights along the Adpai jetty (in Ponda) are recently found non-functional. The same needs to be repaired on priority basis.
Timely rectification of defects would ultimately add to the welfare of innocent citizens.
