A concrete slab has been lying close to the pavement opposite Almeida High School in the vicinity of old bus-stand in Ponda. The same has been left over here and do not serve any purpose.
On the contrary, it turns dangerous for the lives of innocent pedestrians proceeding along this busy route. Especially, during late evening and night, the situation turns serious and if any pedestrian comes in contact with the said slab, he is likely to collapse along the pavement. Senior citizens would be the worst sufferers in the process.
Although, the vehicles of Ponda Municipal Council (PMC) proceed along this route, no positive action has come to the forefront in carrying this unwanted slab to the stores department of this important authority.
I hereby request the higher officials at the PMC to instruct the concerned supervisor either to utilise the said slab wherever necessary or transport it to the stores for utilising it as and when needed. Once it is taken away, the pedestrians will be assured safety while proceeding along the pavement. I hope prompt favourable action would follow in this important matter in public interest.
