I am writing to express my deep concern and anguish over the poor state of streetlights on the NH17B Airport Road (Verna to Airport) the road leading to Dabolim Airport.
After it gets dark, it is extremely dangerous and risky driving and traveling on this road. Many accidents have happened owing to poor visibility.
I appeal to the concerned authorities in the municipal corporation/village panchayat to look into the matter and make the streetlights functional again.
This is an eye sore to the State, the moment one comes out of the airport after a late night/early morning flight one is greeted by these dark dangerous roads. I have seen a lot of trucks operating on these roads without rear lights which make it all the more dangerous.
There are also trucks transporting dangerous combustible fuels plying on these dark roads at night. This could be a disaster waiting to happen.
