Mapusa KTC Bus Stand is a main transport hub of Bardez (North). Thousands of people from all walks of life enter the commercial town’s infamous bazaar and also leave to their destination from this point. It is entirely maintained by the KTC management but the maintainability has become a public eyesore.
See in the above picture at the commuters waiting space the one sitting and relaxing bench lies in a very dilapidated condition, this picture was clicked during dead hours. During the peak hours the commuters sit/relax on this bench finding no place on other benches. One can imagine the result when one sits on this broken bench. There is no one really concerned about the public safety. The concerned authorities are either ignoring the safety or passing on the buck, most of the time saying, “it is not our department’s concern”.
The Mapusa Municipal Council is in an urgent decision making to build MEGA Bus Stand opposite the Mapusa yard. I would request the KTC Management to replace the bench to avoid inconvenience to public safety (commuters).
