Replace the missing dustbins

Dustbins placed at different spots serve the basic purpose of keeping the concerned locations clean and tidy.

However, it has been noticed that dustbins provided at some of the strategic areas in the initial stages have been missing. As a result, the people have been accustomed of throwing waste papers and empty plastic bottles in open areas including the roadsides and pavements.

For instance, plastic dustbins that were installed along the pavement at the church premises in Old Goa have gone missing since quite long. What we notice is only the plastic stand in isolation.

Recently, the number of visitors at these premises has been increasing tremendously. However, the missing dustbins have not been replaced as yet. Similar instances have been noticed along the pavement adjacent to Dempo Towers, Sesa Ghor and Citi Centre at Patto in Panjim.

With a view to assure cleanliness on a permanent basis, it would be appropriate for the concerned authorities at above locations to replace the missing dustbins at the earliest. Regular clearance of accumulated garbage also assumes equal importance.

Let us hope that the authorities at above two locations would initiate prompt positive action in this important matter.
