SANGUEM: The villagers of Rivona are literally worried over the non-functioning of BSNL tower at Kevona-Rivona and the negligent attitude of the authorities in putting the things to order.
The villagers complained of severe problems being faced by the student community in the village due to non-functioning of the BSNL tower since last many days. With most of the students having to attend online classes, those having BSNL connections are missing their classes.
The locals also complained of complete shutdown in the internet connectivity in the village whenever there is a power failure. This, the villagers attributed to the non-functioning of the generator at the tower. “However, a brand new generator is seen barely around 50 metres from the site which is awaiting installation,” informed villagers.
The villagers said that the generator was procured some time back but the authorities are yet to get it installed. Moreover, the generator is lying unattended in the open and could be robbed by someone.
It is also noted that most of the equipment at the Kevona tower site of BSNL are lying in open without any protection from rain and sun. This has made the villagers wonder over the safety of the equipment at the site.
The villagers have urged the authorities to rectify the problems at the Kevona tower to bring relief to the customers having BSNL connections failing which there are possibilities of BSNL losing its customers in the village.
